Lola Lola Lola Lola Lola Lola Lola Lola

My full name name is Ashley Lola Fanka, but I go by Lola. Welcome to me.

I've been a creative since elementary schoool. I primarly focus in the arts of spoken word and poetry. I began writing as a coping mechanism and as I got older it become a side hobby. I now do spoken word at events and protests to make people see how my pain can be turned into something beautiful. Spoken word is what taught me to use my voice in a way that demands me to be heard. Poetry has made me who I am today.

I also love listening to music. I'm obviously a Barb (Nicki Minaj fan), hottie (Megan Thee Stallion fan) and I'm apart of the Hive (Beyonce fandom,) because not only are they talented artists, they are incredible inspirations to black women around the world because they platform to make change in the world. Some of my favorite artists are Frank Ocean, Smino, JID, Tyler the Creator and ASAP Rocky. My favorite song right now is Boca Raton by Bas ft. A$AP Ferg, give it a listen it's a chill, but upbeat vibe.

Let me give you the basics now. I usually start out with the things about me I am most passionate about and then go into generics. I have two siblings, an older sister in her 20s and a younger brother.

At this moment I am 16 years old and I'm turning 17 next week! My birthday is July 25, which makes me a Leo (the best sign obviously.)

My ethnicity is Cameroonian and I love African culture, especially the food. My favorite African snack is puff puff (the image on the far right.)

This school year (my junior year) I did football cheer and cheered for the first time, which was a very interesting and new experience. I was a side base and when I tell you I'm surprised my wrists made it out of there alive, it's truly a miracle, you know the pain if you've ever based before.

I'm also a member of my school's Student Council and I was the treasurer for the junior class. I am a group leader for a minority achievement organization at my highschool. I am also involved in a group in my town called the Coalition Youth Colletive, which is a youth led organization based on showcasing artistic expression and giving a voice to people of color and the LGBTQ+ community.

Welp... that's me or at least all I'm telling you.

Thanks for listening! (and don't be shy check out my portfolio)
